An active mining facility. This one was 'the' piece for this weekend. I think it turned out pretty ok. I love colors... and future looking technology. This was loosely sketched out on paper. Then over that sketch i did a little grey comp, and then took some pictures of canyon like rock and cover the whole thing with them, then just started painting up shapes and stuff that worked well, using the color from the images. Though i set up the lighting on my own, no pictures for that. There is part of a facility somewhere in my facility, though its perspective was way off, so even with ';powerful' photoshop transformation tools i couldn't get it to work... so i just painted a new one over it.

Cool stuff, I know what ya mean about painting canyons too much .........I've been painting caves too much.... lol......now I'm trying to create a scifi spaceship docking...I have a question to ask.... when you paint is it better to start mainly with grey values then use color?... it takes me so long to finish my paintings when i use color ...plus I think I put too much detail especially the painting I did called Future Earth.. check it out you will see waht i'm mean...LOL yes I over did it...
