FUSE Shotgun Sketches by MeckanicalMind FUSE Shotgun Sketches by MeckanicalMind
These where development sketches for the standard shotgun in Insomniac's new game FUSE. Though this weapon didn't get to far past the early thumbnail and sketches phase, due to time we moved ahead with #1. Here is IGN's wiki page for the gun, you can see it changed a bit in the final ( they added a stock). Its also called the "Prowler" in the game: [link]

I'd also like to point out that this is for a video game and though I do appreciate "real world" functionality feedback, the ONLY thing we're concerned about is how a weapon looks like in the game, and that it matches the gameplay functionality. I cannot stress this enough, it wasn't my project, it wasn't my design requirements. Also these are over 2 years old now.

Check out a ton of development sketches for the project on my blog: [link]

Why does the bottom one have a pump and a clip? If it was clip fed then there wouldn't be an internal tube magazine, and thus no pump.

The bottom one is kick-ass

I like all of these designs, and the style they're drawn in quite a lot. Aside from that, I'll just point out that the second [link] isn't actually hyper-linked to anything, and so it's just text.

Cool shotgun sketches, I like 'em both! :) Pistol grip shotguns are cool, I've seen one, but they are really more for close-up work since you can't aim really far distances without the aid of a stock... but they are damn cool, all the same. :D The shotgun below was converted to run on detachable box magazines rather than the internal tube magazine, I'm guessing, right?

I'd say that bottom shotgun is auto-loader, aka semi-automatic shotgun

I doubt it, since it has a pump- the SPAS-12 could actually switch from pump-action to semiauto, but this shotgun probably is only a pump since it lacks a bolt handle. How do you chamber a round if you can't retract the bolt? It is probably a normal pump-action with a tube magazine that was converted to use detachable box mags with a conversion kit like the real-world Sidewinder kit. Still a pump, only feeding from a box mag instead of the internal tube mag. Funny how utterly fictitious guns can start these conversations on "real world" functionality, isn't it? XD

This is great! You probably had a lot of time constraints but I'm curious to see any thumbnails/silhouette sketches of your weapons too.
