FUSE Unused Sniper Concept by MeckanicalMind FUSE Unused Sniper Concept by MeckanicalMind
This is an unfinished development concept for the sniper rifle in Insomniac's new game FUSE. There was really no need for this concept, I just really liked the silhouette. One day I may take it to completion or use the shape for something else. I'm also aware that its completely none-functional looking for the real world so no need to remind me. Thanks!

Check out a ton of development sketches for the project on my blog: [link]

I really love how you have the highlight at the same place, on the interesing part of the weapon, on each of your concepts. I can never quite master it though!

Nope, not functional, barrel does not extend back to the magazine and the firing chamber does not appear to be situated where the magazine can feed rounds into it. :XD: So, yeah, there is no way a real rifle action could function in this- though the silhouette is really cool. :) If it were changed to some kind of phaser gun and the magazine was a power pack then it wouldn't matter that the barrel did not line up with or extend back to the mag.

It might work if it utilized the mechanism of the TKB-022PM, a Soviet experimental rifle. It was never produced due to the complexity of the mechanism and firing system, though it did function. Even then, the magazine should be set about a half an inch forwards to fit such a mechanism.

Honestly, I don't see how this rifle could work without a Rube Goldberg feeding mechanism involving conveyer belts turned by trained termites and fairy dust (for lubrication, of course).  Even the TKB-O22PM seems to still has the barrel in line with the feeding mechanism, rather than sticking the magazine out in a stock out of line with the barrel with no connection to any sort of feeding mechanism.

I'm a bit surprised to get a reply after, so many months... I forgot about this deviation months ago. XD

I looked back at it and noticed the barrel misalignment, didn't notice it before.

I forgot about it as well, it just happened to show up as a More Like This suggestion on one of my friend's drawings.

Caseless ammo possible? It certainly looks cool at least. And that handguard looks ergonomic as all fuq.

It's not -completly- impossible for that to work. The rounds could be triggered by electrical signal rather than a firing pin. sure it would kick more, but it would mean a longer more accurate barrel.

Keep posting these. I can't get enough of em'!

I know people have been criticising the functionality of the designs, but I can safely say to me, having no idea how a gun practically works, they all look as functional as one could hope. I must say, I like the stock and the scope.
