Happy by MeckanicalMind Happy by MeckanicalMind
Here is another portrait. This guy was a little more complicated then the others, but i am happy with the result. Still all digital and no color picking from the source image, just eyeballed the colors and added some of my own here and there. Interpretation, no recreation is the job of the artist. Or at least for this type of art.

Photoshop and Wacom.

I like how you painted it. It sort of looks like an actual oil paining

Umm...ok.Sorry then..Although I think quality is quality and if the result´s coming out right,it don´t matter for me if it´s trad or digi art...

true, and i have to do a lot more then 3 paintings to match the talent of James Gurney. One of my mentors pointed out that doing things traditionally will help you do better and understand more about digital. I have yet to do any traditional painting (because i am lazy) . Theres only a few out there who are truly awesome at digital to the point where you can't distinguish if they are using digital or traditional media. I would like to be one of those one day, i just need to actually try painting in the real world before i can come close. lazy.

Yeah..sounds familiar.Well, I don´t know nuthing bout digital painting since I don´t have a PC(although I think some of ya stuff´s already better than trad paintings could ever be>that foulbeast for example),but I´m like the same when it´s about
drawing perspectivical design of ships.Spaceships, that is.Tell me whatcha think I´ve just put up some new in my scraps..since I earlier called you my master in that category it would of course be an honour to have have a look at them....pleeeeez?
