I've seen a few awesome John Berkey Inspired paintings recently pop up in the concept art circles and I figured I'd join in because it is fun. I mashed a bit of Robert Mccall inspiration in there as well.

I like seeing that painterly style, and some more classic illustrational and personal stuff again. That canvas effect's quite cool, I wonder how, specifically in this piece (and by the Meckanicalmind) it was done. One of my oldest idols here on dA...
However, in those jet trails, even when not in fullview, the repetition of the brushes disturbs the beautiful illusion a little, and hence the overall style effect...personally I'd suggest retouching that part a little to make it perfect...but hey, that's just me.
It is, however, a very beautiful piece and a success in evoking that "pre-McQuarrie" SciFi illustration feeling. It smells of Heinlein, Perry Rhodan, Philip K. Dick, Arthur C. Clarke and the likes.
